Mr. Ralph “Shorty” Ingram, age 82 of Falkville, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. A memorial service with military honors will be held at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home, date and time to be announced.

Shorty was born in Dry Ridge, Kentucky on January 1, 1944, to Andy Ingram and Dorothy Richardson Ingram.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and three sisters.

He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-five years, Denita Ellis Ingram; sons, Eddie Ingram (Brooke), Steven Washam, Michael Washam (Tela); daughters, Mendi Catlett (Robert), Megan Williams (Dustin), and Kassi Ingram; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Shorty loved his family with all his heart, and they were the center of his world. He was a brave soldier in the Korean War, serving in the United States Army. Before and after his military service, he was an over the road truck driver for Kroger, Howard Bare out of Tennessee, and Yellow Freight out of Birmingham. He received the much-deserved honor of the “1,000,000 Safety Miles Award” during his trucking career, which consisted of decades of driving with no accidents. He was also an avid gun and knife lover. He was a man who was very loved and who loved others. He will be greatly missed.
