CULLMAN, Ala. – Meet Bowie, a Husky mix around 5 years old with a calm, steady presence and a heart that seems to know exactly where he’s  needed. He’s The Cullman Tribune Pet of the Week.

There’s something special about a dog who chooses you in a crowded room, and that’s Bowie. He has a quiet way of seeking people out, gently settling in beside them as if he’s always belonged there.

Bowie has a low-medium energy level, making him an easy companion for a variety of homes. He enjoys affection and isn’t shy about returning it, often leaning into those around him while they brush his thick, luxurious coat. He’s especially fond of children and brings a gentle, reassuring presence wherever he goes.

Bowie is already neutered, and his adoption fee is just $35. While the cost is low, those familiar with Bowie say his value as a companion is anything but.

Bowie is currently waiting for a home where he can continue doing what he does best – simply being there for someone. He doesn’t need the spotlight, just a place to land.

Visit the Cullman County Animal Shelter at 935 Convent Road NE. It’s open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Contact the shelter at 256-734-5448 or cullmananimalshelter@co.cullman.al.us.

If Bowie has already been adopted, shelter staff say he has plenty of friends waiting for their own forever homes.
