Fayra Thrasher Ray, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Cullman Regional Medical Center at the age of 89.
Fayra was born on February 17, 1937, to Leonard Uel and Ruby Askea Thrasher. Fayra enjoyed Bible study, her grandchildren, and numerous hobbies such as gardening, scrapbooking, cooking and bee keeping. She graduated from Blountsville High School and attended Snead State, ultimately working many years with Leeth National Bank until her retirement with SouthTrust Bank in Cullman, Alabama.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Halbert Wayne Ray, son-in-law Donald Ray Ferguson, Jr., and nephew Bradley Thrasher.
She is survived by her sister Bonnie (Danny) Martin; brothers Lavelle (Kathy) Thrasher and Lawayne (Peggy) Thrasher; daughters Elisia Ferguson and Katrina Garnett; grandchildren Joshua Ferguson, Noah (Addison) Garnett and Savannah Garnett; nephews Steve (Jacqueline) Thrasher and David (Sherri) Thrasher and niece Lisa Thrasher.
Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Moss Service Funeral Home in Cullman, Alabama. Graveside Service and burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Hopewell Baptist Cemetery in Hanceville, Alabama. Moss Service directing.
