Billy Wayne Veal, 68, a lifelong resident of Cullman, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026. Born to Billy Ray and Yvonne Veal on August 27, 1957; he graduated from Fairview High School.
Mr. Veal was a talented songwriter who loved all things rock music, sci-fi books, movies and sports. Mr. Veal loved his Packers as long as Brett Favre was out of retirement. He’d watch any basketball game that was playing, but his favorite team would always be whatever team LeBron James was playing for that season. Most notably was his love of Alabama football. He was their biggest fan, and wasn’t afraid to let everyone know it, even after death. Those who visit him Sunday will know what I mean. Rolllll Tide!
Preceded in death by his parents, Billy Ray and Yvonne Veal; brother, Michael Veal; sister, Debra Olinger; grandchild, Meridian Jade Veal; and nephew, Michael Ricky Olinger.
Billy leaves behind his children, Shawn (Donita) Veal, Yvonne (Matthew) Sandomir, Nathan Veal, Cameron Veal, Wayne Veal and Kerstyn White; grandchildren, Marissa Legere, Mallory Legere, Gregory Veal, Bella Veal, Ayden Veal and Madelyn Veal; nieces, Sammi (Andrew) Arbet and Katrina Olinger; and nephew, Chris (Amanda) Olinger.
