CLANTON – Wednesday, 1:15 pm, March 11, 2026
A line of storms will enter the northwestern sections this afternoon and move southward into the evening hours.
Between 4-7 pm, discrete supercells will likely form in southeastern Mississippi and southwestern Alabama, moving northeastward. It is this region of the state that has the highest damaging wind threat and tornado potential, but supercells are also possible within the line of storms, including potential EF2 (strong) tornadoes.
The hatched tornado outlook area covers all but the far eastern sections and shows where potential EF2 tornadoes could occur.
The discrete cells will eventually merge with the line of storms late this evening and continue through all of Alabama by early Thursday. Thus, this remains a statewide threat.

It is important to make sure you can receive warnings in real-time by at least two methods, one of which is NOT from an outdoor warning siren. If you own a Weather Radio and haven’t changed the battery in several months, today is the day to put a fresh battery in.
Keep updated with the latest forecasts and avoid travel if at all possible, during times of severe weather in your area.
If a warning is issued, get to the lowest floor in a sturdy structure and put as many walls as possible between you and the outside. You should have a safety helmet (sports, biking, work) for you and each of your family members, and make sure you are wearing shoes in case damage occurs and you are not barefoot.
