Cecil Henry Smith, a hard-working and dedicated individual, passed away on January 17, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on December 24, 1942, Cecil spent his younger years in the state of Missouri and eventually settled in Wisconsin. Cecil and his wife moved from Wisconsin to Cullman, AL in 2023. They lived at Woodland Village Nursing Home. All of the staff loved him for his sense of humor and personality.
Cecil is survived by his beloved wife of over 60 years, Opal Smith. He was a caring father to Charles (Vicki) and Dale (Paulette) and his amplest joys came from spending time with his grandchildren, DJ, Brittany (Dan), Shelby, Tyler, and Sean. He also leaves behind cherished memories among his siblings. He was predeceased by his son Buddy C. Smith, as well as by his father, Cecil Osborne Smith, and his mother, Mary Smith, and siblings.
Apart from his family, Cecil had a passion for fishing, NAS¬CAR, and Alabama Football, as well as a broad love for sports. His interests brought joy and camaraderie into his life and enhanced his connection with the community he loved.
Cecil Henry Smith will be dearly remembered by all who knew him, and his legacy will forever remain in the memories and hearts of his family and friends.
Cecil’s family is abiding by his wishes, therefore, there will not be any funeral services.
