Obituary: Jimmy Dale Wunderlich

Jimmy was born on December 21, 1949, in Ft. Worth Texas. The son of Lt. Col. Charles Van Wunderlich and Marjorie Callahan Wunderlich Heard. He grew up in Vinemont, Alabama and graduated from West Point High School, Class of 1968. Jimmy graduated from Auburn University where he received both his bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. He was awarded the title of P.E. (Professional Engineer).

In 1980, he transitioned from Southern Company to Texas Instruments in Huntsville, Alabama. In 1982, he moved to Norcross, Georgia to work in the Regional Technology Center for Texas Instruments. In the year 2000, he relocated his family to Saco, Maine where he worked for Fairchield Semiconductor Company.

Jimmy will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lt. Col. Charles Van Wunderlich and Marjorie Callahan Wunderlich Heard, Step-Mother Kathleen Wunderlich, by his brother, Charles Van Wunderlich Jr., and by his sister Sharon Wunderlich Busbee.

He is survived by his wife, Susan M. Wunderlich, by two sons, Jared Alan Wunderlich (Amanda) and Thomas John Charles Wunderlich; by his daughter Theresa Carolone Rose Wunderlich; by five grandchildren, Emma Grace, Ethan Calvin, David Alan, Libya Joy, and Jack Owen; by seven siblings, Stephen Lee Wunderlich (Linda), Richard Earl Wunderlich (Mary), Rebecca Wunderlich Pollard (Bobby), Martha Heard Harris, Vanda Jean Wunderlich Burgeois, Robert Dean Wunderlich (Catherine), Harold Lee Wunderlich (Tammy) as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to come by and join in the Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 18, at Mt. Zion Methodist Church, 17488 US. 31N Cullman, AL 35058 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
