David Wayne “Schoolboy” Cordes age 67 of Cullman, Alabama passed away September 22, 2025. He was born November 14, 1957.
David was a truck driver for over 30 years at American Protein. He loved fishing, and he will be remembered as a loving grandfather and great grandfather.
David is preceded in death by his parents Faye Parrish and Oscar Cordes, wife Margie Cordes, sons Doug, Michael, Wesley and Andy Cordes, sister Sandra Cordes, and brother Jim Bo Cordes. He is survived by his daughters Kelly Stewart, Crystal (Jason) Jones and Misty Cordes, sister Laura Burks, brother Kenneth Cordes, grandchildren Zack, Kenzie and Kaci Cordes, Tiffany Collum, Cassandra Stewart, Austin Mooney, Brandon Jones, Anna Minor, and D.J. Minor, and great grandchildren Waylon Stewart, Zayden Collum, Zayleigh Collum, Avyrie Cordes, Tatum Moore, and Cyrus Green.
The family will receive friends for a visitation Thursday September 25, 2025, in the Moss Service Funeral Home Chapel from 5-9 p.m. The funeral service will follow Friday September 26, 2025, at 2 p.m. in the Moss Service Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Livingston Tabernacle in Hanceville.
