It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Patrick Dwight Bryant, 74, of Cullman, Alabama, on August 22, 2025. He was comforted in the days before his passing being surrounded by family, friends, and loved ones. Pat was born on March 3, 1951, to I.A. Bryant and Louise McKoy Bryant. He grew up learning the value of faith, family, and hard work, and strived to live by those values every day of his life. Anyone who met Pat knew him to be a man of his word in all circumstances.
Pat graduated from Cullman High School in 1969, where he was known as a stellar athlete in both football and track. He was voted Most Athletic his junior and senior years by his fellow students, voted by Cullman High Fans as Member of the Decade Team for the 1960s, and would later be inducted into the Cullman County Sports Hall of Fame in 2018.
After high school Pat married the love of his life, Pamela (Pam) Kaye Hancock, and they shared a happy life of 53 years together. Pat lived his adult life devoted to his wife and their sons Joshua (Josh) Patrick Bryant (Erica) and Jody Lee Bryant (Michele). He tirelessly worked hard with an innate drive to be a good provider for his family, and he lovingly and intentionally raised his boys to have the same values by which he lived every day of his life.
He was known to many as one who loved to make a good deal in every business transaction, relishing in the art of the deal. While he ensured he got a bargain, he was always fair in every trade, purchase, or sale. Pat was also known for his love of gardening. He proudly sowed, cultivated, and harvested his crop every year, happily sharing with others. He also liked to plant sunflowers by the road, if for no other reason than to provide enjoyment to the many people who traveled by each day.
Pat knew Cullman and its history like few others and would often tell captivating stories of days past. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Cullman for over 50 years. Whenever possible he sat in his favorite spot on his favorite pew, where he joyfully greeted longtime friends and acquaintances each week.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife and sons, sister Hannah Hudson (late husband Allen), grandchildren Eli Bryant, Caroline Bryant, LeAnn Bryant, Mariana Bryant, Ally Bryant, Ella Bryant, Braxton Williams, Christian Williams, and Tye Williams; nephew Bryant Hudson and niece Stacey Hudson, and a host of other family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m., followed by a memorial and celebration of life service which will be held at 12 p.m. at Cullman First Baptist Church, led by Pastor Jeffery Wiggins, Dr. Ed Hayes, and Chuck Johnson. Interment will take place immediately following at Cullman Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Cullman Building Fund.
