Eva Nell Chambers Miller was born in 1934 to Hurschel and Lillian Chambers. She was the youngest of 4 children; Her older brothers Hurschel (Junior or Hap), Charles (Chic) both served in the United States Navy and were a source of pride to her. Her older sister, Betty (Rice) was her best friend throughout her life. Eva graduated from Cullman High School in 1953. She married the love of her life, James (Jimmy) Freeman Miller in 1957. Jimmy served in the United States Army for the first several years of their marriage. Eva was able to live on base with him and travel throughout Europe with him and other military wives during this time. Soon after Eva and Jimmy welcomed their beloved daughters Tamara (Tammy) and Teri.

Eva served her community and church faithfully throughout her life: as a cook for many church dinners and potlucks, Girl Scout Troop Leader, and a room mother. Eva worked as a BellSouth Operator and later worked for Hayes Aircraft in Birmingham.

Eva loved the Lord with all her heart and prayed for friends and family daily. She attended church every Sunday and enjoyed singing hymns with the choir. She greatly enjoyed being a friend to many people throughout her life, making friends with neighbors wherever she lived. Eva was a strong mother, grandmother, and Gigi to her family, she loved her daughters, sons in law, grandchildren, and great grandchildren who will always fondly remember her telling them, “love you lots” with a smile you could feel even through the phone.
