Kenneth A. Glasscock was born April 1, 1930, to Arch and Mary Susan King Glasscock, the youngest of six children. He passed away July 13, 2025, at Westminster Assisted Living.
He was raised on the family farm, surrounded by love and hard work. Kenneth attended Oak Level School and graduated from Fairview High School in 1948. Known for his reliability even at a young age, he sometimes drove the school bus while still a student. Kenneth proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Upon returning home, he met and married the love of his life, Helen Pruett, in 1953.
Kenneth spent his life as a dedicated farmer and truck driver, embodying the values of hard work, integrity and perseverance. A long-time, faithful member of Oak Level Baptist Church, he served in various¬¬ roles, including as a deacon for many years.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 69 years, Helen; his parents; his brother Coleman (Marge) Glasscock; his sisters: Ethel (Jake) Frank, Sibyl (Harrison) Reeves, Rowena (Eddie) Craft, Mildred (Fred) Frank; and two nephews.
Kenneth was a devoted and loving father and grandfather. He is lovingly remembered by his daughters: Debra Kreps, Mary (David) Mayo, and Melanie Glasscock; six grandchildren: Maria Faulkner (Jason Brown), Daniel Kreps, Thomas (Lauren) Kreps, Ben (Jena) Mayo, Will (Jessica) Mayo, and Sarah Harris; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to his private caregivers- Esther Hayes, Robyn Tucker, Betty Hauk, and others-for their compassionate support. They are also deeply thankful to the staffs of Westminster Assisted Living and Southern Care New Beacon Hospice for their exceptional care.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 17 at Oak Level Baptist Church beginning at 9:30 a.m. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 11 a.m., followed by burial with military honors in the adjoining cemetery.
