Roger “Bud” Moon, age 92, of Cullman, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. Born and raised in Holly Pond, AL, he never lost his pride in his hometown.

Bud is survived by his wife of 68 years, Wynona Fincher Moon, daughter Pamela Lasley (Steve), grandchildren, Luke Austin Lasley (Didi), Camille Lasley Wise (Connor), and a host of beloved nieces and nephews. Special love and thanks to caring and tireless companion, Joan Brannan.

For 27 years, Bud served as the Master Mechanic Supervisor at the King Edward Cigar Plant where he was known for his diligence and dependability. After the plant’s relocation, he took on a new role that reflected his love of the outdoors as Park Manager of Sportsman’s Lake Park. He transformed the park into a beloved community destination and introduced a variety of attractions that continue to delight families to this day. After his retirement, his workshop was his haven and laboratory where he tinkered, built, and fixed with a creativity all his own.

His greatest sanctuary was the deer camp at the Harris Creek Hunting Club- a place he cherished deeply. There, surrounded by close friends and the quiet beauty of nature, Bud found joy in countless hunting adventures and camaraderie that lasted a lifetime.

A visitation for Bud will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel, 1901 2nd Avenue, N.W., Cullman, Alabama 35055, until the funeral service at 2 p.m. The interment will follow at Holly Pond Cemetery, 473-493 Cemetery Rd, Holly Pond, AL 35083.
