Obituary: Sarah Creel Baker

Funeral service for Sarah Creel Baker, age 89, of Cullman, will be Thursday, Sep. 28, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Joy Baptist Church, interment at Mt. Joy Cemetery, with Reverend Steve Rodgers and Reverend Mike Lansford officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sep. 27, 2023 at Cullman Funeral Home from 4:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Mrs. Baker passed away Monday, Sep. 25, 2023 at Hanceville Nursing Home. She was born June 6, 1934 to Hershel Creel and Julia Nail Creel.  

She was a member of Mt. Joy Baptist Church.  She loved attending any event at church, going to thrift stores and yard sales.  Loved ones describe her as a good Christian woman.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, Hershel and Julia Creel; husband, Ardis Baker; son, Michael Hill; infant granddaughter, Kristie Smith; brothers, Joe Creel and Larry Creel; dog, Baby.  

She is survived by son, Ricky (Jean) Baker; daughters Sandra (Bobby) Russell and Kendra (Keith) Richard; daughter-in-law, Gail Hill; brothers, James (Brenda) Creel and Keith (Susie) Creel; Grandchildren, Vikki (Danny) Turrentine, Brandi (Tony) Ivey, Staci (Donald) Banks, Kimberly (Rich) Henderson, Brannon (Casey) Russell, Machiela Richard and Austin (Meda) Richard, Matthew Hill and Bubba Hill; Great-Grandchildren, Jake (Tori) Burkett, Cody (Morgan Lambert) Banks, Ally (Toby Hill) Banks, Jessie Turrentine, Peyton (Chrissi) Hill, Lucas (Kerstin Kimbrough) Hill, Kaylee Russell, John Raymond Richard; Great Great Grandchildren, Navyi Hill; Dogs, Doodles, Emma, Sissy, Patches; family and friends, including her friends at Hanceville Nursing Home and Southern Care Hospice.
