Jean Compton, of Cullman, Alabama, passed away on Sunday evening, Aug. 13, 2023, at the age of 83. Ms. Compton was born to Parris Lester and Elizabeth Vance on March 26, 1940, in Bradshaw, West Virginia.
Ms. Compton was of the Pentecostal faith. She enjoyed crocheting and she loved raising birds. Jean adored her sons, and she was not only a loving mother, but she extended the same love to her daughters-in-laws, considering them family as well. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and leaves behind a large family that brought great joy to her throughout her life.
Ms. Compton is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Noah Compton, Sr.; son, Noah “Skip” Compton, Jr., and his wife Janice; a host of brothers and sisters; and three grandchildren.
Those surviving Ms. Compton include her sons, Pat Compton (Lisa), Jim Compton (Luann); and a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren that Jean considered to be a great blessing.
Funeral services for Jean are 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023, in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel. There will be a time of visitation prior to the service on Saturday, beginning at 8 a.m. Burial will follow in Oleander Methodist Cemetery in Union Grove, Alabama.
