Nancy Gail Brooks, 83, of Cullman, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at St. Vincent’s Hospital. She was born in Grassey, Alabama on Feb. 18, 1940. Gail loved cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family. She was a longtime member of Mt. Vernon Primitive Baptist Church and Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Madison Starling and Lois Camp Starling; brothers and sisters: James Starling, Virginia Cook, Joyce McKenzie, Johnny Starling, Vickie McElroy; and an infant brother, Roy Donald Starling.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Donald W. Brooks; daughters, Cindy (Jacob) Knight and Kim (Scott) Roberts; grandchildren, Britton Knight, Morgan (Daniel) White, Garrett (Kaitlin) Roberts and Ally (Luke Johnson) Knight; great grandchildren, Hadley Roberts and Haydon Roberts; sister, Faye (Martin) Rutledge and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 24, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Moss Service Funeral Home; burial will follow in Valley Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeral Home.
