Obituary: Earlie Junior Cooper

Earlie Junior Cooper, 89 of Houston, entered into rest on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 19, 1932, in Double Springs, Alabama to Ruby Goss and William Cooper.

Earlie and Liz moved to Illinois in the 50’s for work opportunities. With a family of 5, in the 60’s he moved the family to Southern California. In the 70’s, Earlie and Liz moved back to Alabama. He loved family vacations throughout the years. Earlie was a talented custom cabinet maker for residential and businesses. He loved to design and make things with all types of wood. He also enjoyed traveling to see new places and things with Dexter Taylor.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022, from 1:00-2:00pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where services will be at 2pm. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.

Earlie is survived by his daughter: Brenda Martin; daughter-in-law: Dolores Cooper; five grandchildren: Steven A. Martin, Jesse (Vickie) Cooper, Casey (Staci) Cooper, Dayna (Joe) Cooper and Melissa Hill; 10 great grandchildren: Logan Martin, Trevor Cooper, Brittany Nearen, Chelsea Dyer, Holly Wiggins, Brannon Weaver, Katie Weaver, Michael Hill, Justin Hill and Emily Hill; 2 great great grandchildren: Alexis Nearen, and Kenna Cooper;  sisters: Ginny Stone, Faye Decker and Mary Cooper; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Lillie Lizzie Hammack Cooper; parents: William and Ruby Goss Cooper; children: James Harold Cooper and Marilyn Mooney; brothers: Harold and Herbert Cooper; and great grandchildren: Kayla Cooper and Aidan Weaver.
