Obituary: Emmie Opalene “Dean” Parrish

Emmie Opalene “Dean” Parrish, 81, of Double Springs, Alabama entered into rest on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Parrish was born on August 29, 1939 in Winston County, Alabama. Mrs. Dean was a member of Henryfield Church who loved God and loved to sing. She was the type of caring person that if she knew you, she probably prayed for you. Mrs. Dean was very dedicated to her family and loved spoiling her grandbabies.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs. Mrs. Parrish Will lie in state on Sunday, June 20, 2021 from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. at Henryfield FCM Church in Double Springs, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Brother Danny Page and Brother Delmer Duboise will officiate. Burial will follow in Frost Chapel Cemetery in Haleyville, Alabama.

Dean is survived by her daughters: Ladana (Ronnie) Haley, Michelle (Dennis) Prescott, Regina (Darrell) Ponder and Leann (Brad) Trapp; grandchildren: Ashley Garrison, Kaitlin (Tyler) Harris, Casey (Alannah) Hill, April (Dustin) Hayes, Caleb (Lexie) Hill, Breanna (Jared) Tittle and Daylee Trapp; 11 great-grandchildren and brothers: Vernett Garrison, Gene Garrison, Junior (Gina) Garrison and Steve (Ilene) Garrison.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Bobby Parrish; son: Darron Keith Parrish; grandson: Noah Lane Trapp; parents: Samuel and Cora Garrison; sisters: Mae Jean and Nena Fay; brother: Charles Edward and a host of other family and friends.
