Graveside services for Mr. James Conard Davenport,93, of Cullman are Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Cullman City Cemetery. Rev. Bill Ellis and Rev. Eric Martin officiating. A Celebration of Life Service will be at a later date.

Mr. James Davenport went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020. He was born Aug. 6, 1927 in Cullman, Alabama to Homer and Lena Davenport. He served his country in the United States Army. He was retired from Wonder Bread Company and later owned Good Hope Food Mart.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Lee Davenport; sister Mary Eady; his loving wife of 71 years, Helen Davenport; his daughter Barbara (John W. III) Ellis; his grandson Richard David Collier; and great-grandson Matthew Ryan Ray.

Mr. Davenport is survived by his daughter Carol (Lonnie) Collier, Jr.; granddaughter Julie (Michael) Ray; two grandsons Rev. Bill (Angela) Ellis and Lonnie W. Collier III; great-granddaughter Emma M. Ray; two great-grandsons Jordan W. Ray and Will C. Ellis.; brother Jim (Chris) Davenport; and two sisters Annie Lou Waldrep and Charlotte (John) Bishop.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Gideons International, Seventh Street Baptist Church or charity of your choice.
