Graveside services for Lorene Evers Apel, 93, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 2020 at Cullman City Cemetery with Rev. John Bussman officiating,

Moss Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lorene passed away Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born in Cullman July 14, 1927 to Otto T. Evers and Magdalena Blette Evers.

Lorene was a housewife, mother and grandmother who loved her family.

Lorene was involved in many civic and church organizations. She was a longtime member of the Cullman Civitans and was involved in their activities on a local, state and national level. Lorene was active supporter of Cullman Community Concert Association and served on the board. She was also active with the local Girl Scouts. Lorene was a member of the St. Paul’s Sunshine Club for many years and a very faithful member of their Bible study classes. Lorene loved to play card and board games with her family and friends.

Lorene was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Ervin Apel; her parents; brother Alex Evers; and sister Margaret Seymore.

Survivors include daughter Janice Morgan; son Greg Apel; daughter-in-law Amy Nelson; two brothers John Evers and Otto Evers; two grandchildren Jonathan (Mandi) Easterwood and Jennifer (Wes) Harding; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cullman.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Easterwood, John Kress, Rod Cousar, Wes Harding, Jim Abt, and Chad Apel.
