Obituary: Edith Carrie Mae Pierce

Edith Carrie Mae Pierce, 93, of Double Springs entered into rest Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Edith was born May 21, 1927 in Cullman County.  She was a longtime member of Double Springs Church of Christ.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Oct. 4, 2020 from 1-3 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where services will be at 3 p.m. Vance Hutton will officiate. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery in Double Springs.

Edith is survived by her daughters Noma Dempsey and Rose Mary (James) Lewis; brother Quenon Hallmark; grandchildren Shannon Dempsey, Kristy (James) Dempsey, Stella (Ron) Alexander, Belinda (B.J.) New, Scotty (Misty) Dempsey, and Jammie (Amy) Lewis; 14 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy Pierce; parents Thomas and Eula Hallmark; brothers Conrad, Hubert, Bobby and Billy Hallmark; sisters Florence Martin, and Dalphine Pierce; and son-in-law Jerry Dempsey.
