Cora Adeline Matheson, 93, of Crane Hill entered into rest Thursday, March 5, 2020 at her home.

Ms. Matheson was born Aug. 26, 1926 in Springfield, Illinois.

Cora was a proud military wife who helped support the beginning of the Blue Angels, of whom her husband, LeRoy, was a pilot. She was also a member of the Arley Women’s Club, and she and her husband, LaVerne, were instrumental in forming the Smith Lake Advocacy Group.  She was a family-oriented, sweet, loving person who was known for her angelic smile and contagious laugh.

Cora Adeline Matheson, whom we mourn, has entered into the peace of eternal life. She still lives on in the acts of goodness she performed and in the hearts of those who cherish her memory. May the memory of her life abide amongst us as a loving benediction.

The family will have a memorial service at a later time.

Ms. Matheson is survived by her sons Robert “Bob” David Mosher and LeRoy “Lee” O. Mosher; daughters Barbara Ann Mosher and Cherin Lee Moradian; stepsons Peter LaVerne Matheson and William Allen Matheson; stepdaughters Laurel Ann Dinerstein and Jennifer Kay Hughes; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five step-grandchildren; and eight step-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband LeRoy Oscar Matheson; second husband LaVerne Eugene Matheson; parents Robert David Simpson and Margaret Lee Sneathen Simpson; and brother William David Simpson.

Memorial donations can be made to Smith Lake Advocacy Group or the Arley Women’s Club, LaVerne Matheson Scholarship Fund at 67 County Road 220, Crane Hill, Alabama 35053.
