Obituary: Rita Rae Crick

Rita Rae Crick, 85, of Hanceville passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2019.

She was born on April 18, 1934 in Indiana to Raymond “Ray” Williams and Mildred (Darnell) Williams; whom passed away when Rita was very young. Her extended Darnell family helped raise her until her father later remarried and Beatrice Williams became her step-mother.

Rita was a member of Cullman First Presbyterian Church, Psi Iota Xi Philanthropic Sorority in Indianapolis, IN, Second Century Club in Cullman and served on the Board for Domestic Violence in Cullman. She had many talents; she played the violin, made jewelry and was a talented painter using acrylics and oils.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Ray, Mildred and Beatrice Williams; husband, Howard Crick; daughter, Nicki Crick and half-sister, Betty Ann Taylor. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted daughter, Jodi Skinner, son-in-law Barry Skinner and grandchildren: Shane Skinner and Victoria Skinner (fiancé Justin Copen).

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 3, 2019 in the chapel of Moss Service Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Her family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of service. Burial will follow the service at the Cullman City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
