James Charles “J.C.” Veach, 89, of Cullman, Alabama, formerly of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away on April 29, 2026.
J.C. was born on February 9, 1937, in Corbin, Kentucky. Over the years, he built a life centered around hard work, family, and the simple things he loved most.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances C. Veach; his parents, Jermie and Lucy Veach; and his brothers, Arnold Veach and Ray Veach.
J.C. is survived by his children, Melissa Veach of Cullman, AL, and Marty Veach of Corbin, KY. He is also survived by his siblings, Wayne Veach, Sherry Veach-Volpe, and Joe Veach.
He was a proud grandfather to Brent (Elisabeth) Wright of Cullman AL, Shayla (Dalton) Alexander of Birmingham AL, Destanie Williams of Birmingham AL, Kyrstin Williams of Birmingham AL, and James Williams of Cullman AL. He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren, Asher and Jett Wright.
J.C. spent many years working as an auto mechanic, a trade he took great pride in and knew inside and out. He had a deep love for fishing and found peace and joy on the water with his fishing buddies, whenever he could.
He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather, a man who could be as stubborn as he was wise, and someone who always seemed to know the answer. To those who knew him best, he was one of a kind, steady, strong, and full of quiet love.
His memory will live on in the stories shared, the lessons he passed down, and the family who meant everything to him.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
