Dr. Hood reported on social media Tuesday that he has been released from the hospital.

GOOD HOPE, Ala. – Good Hope High School Principal Dr. John Hood is hospitalized in intensive care due to COVID-19. He is being treated at St. Vincent’s Hospital.

Cullman County Schools Superintendent Dr. Shane Barnette told The Tribune Saturday, “I talked to Dr. Hood last night and again this morning. He tested positive yesterday afternoon for COVID and was referred to St. Vincent’s Hospital for further tests.  After a CT scan, they discovered that Dr. Hood had blood clots present in his legs and lungs and admitted him into the ICU unit there for treatment. They believe the clots can be treated with medicine at this time. While Dr. Hood seemed to be in good spirits, he is eager to get better and be back with his family. As Dr. Hood is a man of faith, he would appreciate everyone’s prayers for a speedy but full recovery.”
