CULLMAN – Saturday, June 6, will mark the 3rd Annual Cullman County Bosom Buddies Foundation Charity Motorcycle Ride. The cost is $20 per rider and $5 per passenger with registration running from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to participants.

Participants will start at the Cullman County Fairgrounds and proceed on a scenic route that will take them through the backroads of Vinemont, Lacon, Morgan County and Cullman. An escort of police and the Blue Knights Alabama VIII will lead the ride.

The Cullman County Bosom Buddies Helping Hand Foundation began in 2013. Because the organization consists of only volunteers, 100 percent of the money that is raised or donated goes directly to assisting cancer patients within the area.

Each candidate must go through a thorough application process to prove a need for assistance.

Once determined to be a suitable candidate, the organization may help the patient in a variety of ways.

This can include gas cards to assist the patient in getting to treatment centers, rent, utility bills, and even propane to keep a patient’s home warm during the winter season.

The first annual motorcycle ride consisted of 123 participants. Last year’s event garnered an impressive 200 participants. This year’s expected turnout is projected to be 250.
